Rally for Haiti Relief - This event will benefit "Friends of Paradis des Indiens" an established organization in Haiti dedicated to helping the people of the Grand'Anse area. Since the earthquake the huge influx of refugees from Port au Prince into this more stable region, has created a highly critical situation, especially for the children. This charity also schools children and provides them with a much needed meal each day, and for most, the only meal of the day.

The future of Haiti is with its' children, so we are asking for you to donate with an "eye to the future" by giving to an organization that understands and fosters this philosophy, and will make the most constructive use of this money. Our hope is to raise as much as we can for those in need. Please visit the website of this charity at www.friendsofpdi.org.

DVT Efficiency Run - 8:00AM to 12:00PM

Efficiency Run: inspired by the Efficiency Runs historically held in the US as described in Moss' magazine, I thought it would be fun if the DVT held one. I'm suggesting the morning before the detailing session at Tom and Rose's home.

The rules are simple: we all meet at a gas station, fill up (no topping up) at the same pump to the first pump-click) and drive a simple pre-determined route. No short cuts. We end at a gas station and compare how much fuel we needed to refill, at the same pump as each other.

MPG is highly topical, a healthy car can do well, and driver skill is not irrelevant.

Classes can compare overdrive and non-overdrive cars, or model peers could compare. We could have an mpg hero award; and maybe something for the worst mpg among the TRs.

We could decide to do a staggered start, or drive in caravan - whatever seems best.

We'll have a fun drive anyway....

After fuel used is established, cars can continue to the Detail Event at Tom and Rose's
